People who inspire me...

Who Inspires you?...here is one amazing young lady

No stopping soul surfer Bethany Hamilton

A Hawaiian native from the island of Kauai, Bethany Hamilton entered her first surfing competition at the age of eight and promptly won both categories in which she competed. At nine years old, she won the Rell Sun Menehune competition and gained her first sponsor, Ripcurl.
At thirteen years old, Hamilton was out surfing when she was suddenly attacked by a fifteen-foot tiger shark, resulting in the loss of her left arm from just below the shoulder. She lost almost 60% of the blood in her body and endured several surgeries over the next week. Within a month, Bethany was back on her board and in the ocean, learning to surf without her arm. In less than a year, she was back to competing, and just over a year after the attack, she won her first national title, taking first place in the Explorer Women’s Division of the 2005 NSSA National Championships.
Bethany Hamilton shared her experience in an autobiography, ‘Soul Surfer: A True Story of Faith, Family, and Fighting to Get Back on the Board’, which was published by MTV Books. The upcoming film, based on the memoir, stars 17 year old AnnaSophia Robb as Bethany, Helen Hunt and Dennis Quaid as her parents, and Lorraine Nicholson as best friend Alana Blanchard.  American Idol winner and country music star Carrie Underwood, in her film debut, stars as a church youth leader who helps Bethany fortify her faith in the wake of her trauma.
